About To Xani Restaurant

Soft murmurings of conversation blend effortlessly with the occasional clink of glassware, crafting an unpretentious ambiance that complements rather than competes with the meal. The charm of the space offers glimpses into the past, subtly echoing the Venetian Old Port’s rich history without feeling museum-like. Yet, some might find the seating a touch tight, especially when the restaurant draws a crowd. Browsing through various To Xani Restaurant reviews reveals a consistent appreciation for this authentic environment and the welcoming attentiveness of the staff, who manage to balance familiarity with professionalism amid the bustle.

Fresh ingredients take center stage across an extensive menu that merges classic Greek tastes with light contemporary touches. A standout dish, the grilled octopus, arrives tender and smoky, paired memorably with tangy lemon and local herbs. Meanwhile, the variety ensures options for more conservative palates without sacrificing authenticity. Those curious enough to seek out To Xani Restaurant photos will often find the vibrant plates have an inviting, rustic charm, reflecting the kitchen’s commitment to straightforward, honest cooking instead of ornate presentation. Prices align fairly well with the quality and portion sizes, though some might argue a few specialties warrant a slightly higher expectation.

Encounters with To Xani Restaurant inevitably highlight how the layering of time and tradition permeates the overall experience. Sitting at a corner table, it becomes clear the restaurant’s subtle pulse thrives on familiarity and an unspoken understanding of place. The interplay between the carefully curated menu and an atmosphere that encourages lingering draws many to linger longer than planned. Still, the occasional wait during peak hours shows the popularity doesn’t come without compromise, a nuance often reflected across multiple reviews. Ultimately, the experience balances hearty, honest Greek cuisine with a genuine, if occasionally bustling, setting that suits those seeking an immersive dining occasion rather than a rushed meal.

Friendly service, fine food, comfortable environment. Was just roaming around the street randomly that night to seek for dinner and ended up coming here as the hostess introduced her dishes. I was led through to a ally for seating, there is a large dining area for big groups further in; however, i was a solo diner, a seating for 2 is good enough to place me. it was comfortable and quiet, the staff is relatively attentive. Food was served in a timely manner and i was filled before i could finish off everything.

Excellent service for exquisite food. The Lamb is perfectly cooked, mild, tender, great sauce and the fries like no other so far. Great taste for beer, draught. I ate several times and I will be back . Food great and service exquisite. I had lunch and dinner. Location is quiet out of the Hussle and bussle of people watching and that is what makes it perfect. Musaka so tasty and healthy. Great fish of the day. They help you with the bones. And one exquisite Aperol, the best I have in Chania... Closest to the one in Venice... And so tasty and exactly what you need for the complimentary sweets. Hope to do their justice with my photos.

Be easy to walk by it, down a small passage way but great location without the crowds walking by. Trad taverna, always busy, best to book a table in advance or you will probably have to wait. Grilled meat is the thing to order, pork souvlaki was tender and lamb chops were excellent. Service is friendly but can be slow at busy times. Went back a few days later, still the best lamb chops in Chania and you should try the "chochli"

Little alley restaurant the service was great. The goat in wine sauce was sensational. Not gamey at all. Really surprised by the potatoes in the Cretan salad, it was soft and moist not starchy at all. Even the mash in the salmon was really good. They provided rakia at the end of the meal too. Highly recommend

Lovely flavorful food, decent service, and good vegetarian options (multiple mains and starters). Excellent food, and recommend the aubergine main - good portion and very tasty! The olive oil, which we got to go with the bread basket, was a new 100ml bottle of olive oil (nice portion size!) Service was decent - the right level of efficiency and being available without being intrusive. Outdoor seating in the back avoids the tourist crowds, and has mounted fans for a little breeze. Slightly expensive but prices similar to other restaurants in the area. Single toilet inside and up one flight of stairs - a little dark but clean.

We were walking down the street, then a lady offered us to explain their menu. We ended up getting a table for diner. The whole place is amazing, the food is really tasty and fresh. It feels like a family run restaurant, everyone there was friendly, we didnt regret listening to that Macedonian lady in the street, shout out to her

Absolutely amazing food – we tried the rabbit and the chicken with plums, and both were unforgettable! The service was top-notch, and everyone was incredibly friendly. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. They sell beautiful clay dishes as souvenirs, which added a lovely touch. We loved everything and will definitely be back when in Chania!

A true gem hidden in the back streets of old town Chania with authentic Crete cuisine in a lovely setting. From the tasty mezes to the large selections of fish and meat main courses we enjoyed every bite. Highly recommend.
